SANTA MONICA – Last night, a bomb was dropped on Donald Trump in the form of a letter published in USA Today. In the letter, people who either worked for the former president or supported Trump’s Republican ticket declared Trump would be a disaster and that they would vote for Kamala Harris in November.
Included in the 238 people who signed the letter, are Republicans who worked for Mitt Romney, John McCain, George W. Bush, and George H.W. Bush.
The letter warned that Trump is a “chaotic” and “dangerous” leader who supported the goals of Project 2025.
While the Republicans who signed the letter acknowledged their differences with the Democrat Kamala Harris, they believe that another four years under Trump would “irreparably damage our belove democracy.”
The letter went on to state that Trump and his “acolyte” JD Vance are not men who stand on their own to feet because they “kowtow to dictators like Vladimir Putin and turn their backs on our allies.”
In an emailed response, Trump campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, wrote the group, “would rather see the country burn down than to see President Trump successfully return to the White House,” reported the Washington Post.
This latest development does not bode well for the Trump campaign. In one of the first major surveys taken after the Democratic National Convention, Harris leads Trump by 4 points, reported Forbes.
