Citizens in the United States gather to protest “Not a King” day against Trump and Musk policies

February 17, 2025 - Protests are planned across the USA today as people take to the streets to voice their opinions against recent executive orders by president Trump and by billionaire Elon Musk - an unelected official who many believe has illegal access to their data and personal information.

WASHINGTON – After denying to accept the results of the 2020 Presidential election and spurring his supporters to invade the Capital Building on January 6, 2021, the people of the United States are once again protetsing.

Today, however, on what is nationally known as President’s Day, the protests are of a different kind.

Instead of showing their support for the current president, people are taking to the streets to voice their opinions against the chaotic executive orders that president Trump is forcing upon the American people. Protests are scheduled in Washington, DC, Tampa, Florida, Raleigh, NC, New York City, Indianapolis, Indiana, Los Angeles, CA and San Fransisco. And protests will be held in many more cities across the country. The Associated Press says that hundreds of protests are scheduled for today.

The protesters are upset with the direction Trump is taking the country. Moreover, they are protesting Elon Musk’s involvement in politics and policies that impact their lives. Specifically, the people are protesting the Republican president’s purge of federal government employees, the illegal and unconstitutional closing of government agencies such as USAID, the Consumer Protection Bureau, and possibly the Department of Education.

Musk and Trump argue that their actions are meant to stop waste and fraud. To date, Musk nor Trump have offered any proof that they have found fraud or waste.
