WASHINGTON – Kimberly Cheatle, the Director of the United States Secret Service, stepped down early this morning after facing four hours of bi-partisan interrogations from lawmakers on The Hill yesterday.
Cheatle, a 30-year veteran of the Secret Service accepted full responsibility after a 20 year-old gunman superficially wounded former President Trump in the right ear while the controversial Trump spoke to supporters at at campaign rally on July 13th near Butler, Pennsylvania.
During yesterday’s Hearing, Director Cheatle refused to answer questions from both Democrats and Republicans citing an “ongoing investigation,” according to PBS.
During the assassination attempt, one person died from gunshot wounds. As of yet, Republicans have remained silent on whether to impose stricter laws on AR style rifles.
